Panama Named in Top 8 to Retire
Kiplinger just named Bocas del Toro one of the top 8 places in the world to retire. The article stated that Panama tied for 13th (with Costa Rica) on the Global Retirement Index for cost of living. According the the index, a retired American couple can live comfortably in Bocas del Toro on $1,500 a month.
(GH and I did not visit Bocas, but heard that the ambiance is very like that of Key West. )
Also named from Central America were Corozal Town, Belize; Roatan, Honduras; and Granada, Nicaragua.
I’d love to hear some opinions about Bocas and if the expats agree that $18,000/year would provide for a comfortable lifestyle in Panama.
